Two planning years produced comprehensive approach for the Consortium structure & curriculum. 1987--Southeastern, Southern, & McNeese entered into Memorandum of Agreement to create Intercollegiate Consortium for a Master of Science in Nursing 1989--Southeastern & McNeese admitted 45 students in fall 1990--University of Louisiana-Lafayette joined Consortium & admitted 9 students 1992--Southern University-Baton Rouge admitted 15 students --First Consortium graduates 2000--ICMSN has 154 students enrolled & 203 graduates

The Consortium has demonstrated -- * the ability to implement a sound graduate program * mobilize resources among institutions * attract a renewable pool of qualified students * produce satisfied graduates for advanced nursing practice

Distance Learning

History of Nursing 600- Theoretical Foundations of Advanced Practice Nursing

Fall 1998-Consortium collectively wrote a grant proposal to the Board of Regents for a distance education grant ($150,000) Spring 1999-grant awarded & universities divided the funds to send each campus director of the graduate nursing program & one faculty to an intensive one week Distance Education Certification Program at The Center for Distance Learning Research Texas A&M University Training@cdlr.tamu.edu
