HISTORY OF CONSORTIUM
Each university would offer a non-duplicated nursing specialty
Two planning years produced comprehensive approach for the Consortium structure & curriculum.1987--Southeastern, Southern, & McNeese entered into Memorandum of Agreement to create Intercollegiate Consortium for a Master of Science in Nursing1989--Southeastern & McNeese admitted 45 students in fall1990--University of Louisiana-Lafayette joined Consortium & admitted 9 students1992--Southern University-Baton Rouge admitted 15 students --First Consortium graduates2000--ICMSN has 154 students enrolled & 203 graduates
The Consortium has demonstrated -- * the ability to implement a sound graduate program * mobilize resources among institutions * attract a renewable pool of qualified students * produce satisfied graduates for advanced nursing practice
