I have always enjoyed teaching biology and science in general.
It is my objective to get students to think critically and be able to apply
concepts they learn in science rather than just memorize them. My classes are
usually driven by questions I pose to the class or vice versa through the utilization of
an inquiry-based approach to teaching. Ultimately, I want students to be able to
intelligently and confidently communicate their ideas, to friends and family, of how
acquired scientific knowledge really affects their world. It is this type of domino effect
that many educators, conservationists, environmentalists and I share as a goal and are
striving to achieve by promoting scientific literacy.
