The Program
Spend part of your summer in one of the most beautiful cities in Europe and earn up to six credit hours in history (History 439/539, 498/698), philosophy (Philosophy 314, 417/517, 418/518), political science (Poli 400, 480/580), or the humanities (Hum 200). Learn about Scottish culture, history, and politics from internationally renowned scholars and professors from the University of Edinburgh, Strathclyde University, and the University of the Highlands and Islands. After a stimulating morning lecture, afternoons will be spent exploring Edinburgh and the surrounding area (more on this below).

Edinburgh Castle TourVisit the official Edinburgh Castle website.
Tour Stirling Castle and see the William Wallace monument (with an uncanny resemblance to Mel Gibson) as well as the Robert the Bruce monument. For more on the Castle, check out the Historic Scotland website.
St. Giles Cathedral, Greyfriar's Kirkyard Cemetery, and Holyrood Palace.
Day trip to Inverness and tour of Culloden Battlefield.
Tour of Scottish Parliament 
Ferry to and tour of Inchcolm Abbey
Explore the Georgian House, a house that preserves the life and culture of 18th century Scotland. And following the tour of the house, and after dinner, we will go on the famous literary pub tour.
