6. SGA Grant Proposal - Preservation of Tinsley Garden Camellias

SGA gave the Hort Club an $800.00 grant.  We purchased pine bark mulch.  Club members need to set a day and time to help spread mulch.

Presentation by  Max and Marie Mizell,  “All About Camellias” was held on Monday April 8.  We had guests from St. Amant and Pride in addition to Dr. Guedry’s plant propagation class.

            Plant Sale - Sign up sheet to volunteer April 17, next Wednesday-- 7:30 - 3:00

7. SGA Grant Proposal - Preservation of Tinsley Garden Camellias

            Meeting with SGA Appropriations Committee March 13, Wed 4:30 Student Union

Presentation by Marie Mizell, Past President of New Orleans Camellia Society, Landscape Contractor, Graduate of Southeastern, will discuss Camellias: cultivation and propagation, will demonstrate pruning and show slides. on Monday April 8 at 1:00-3:00.  Anyone with an interest in camellias is invited to attend.

A.                 Currently there are 4 members that are qualified to attend club sponsored field trips.  Four hours of work must be done each semester to make a member eligible. 

B.                 University rules state that only currently enrolled students, faculty, staff or students pre-registered for the next semester can be eligible for field trips paid for by certified University organizations.
