GREENHOUSE DIVISION
   Plant Requests

The Greenhouse Division of Horticulture Services is pleased to provide live plant material for all confirmed University functions on the campus. The contact person at the Horticulture Center is Ms. Linda Gore, Horticulturist. We do ask each department or organizational group to follow the following guidelines in their request for materials:

a. All requests should be initiated by completing a PLANT REQUEST form via the SLU Horticulture Services web site (www.selu.edu/Adminstration/Depts/Horticulture ) or completing a hard copy of the form and faxing to x5174 or mailing to SLU Box 10469. Please DO NOT request through Physical Plant. Telephone requests must be followed by a PLANT REQUEST form.

b. PLANT REQUEST forms should be submitted and received at least two weeks prior to the scheduled university event. Each request will be prioritized and confirmation will be sent to the sender. A request that has to be denied will be contacted promptly.

c. The maximum stay for plants at any function is three days. If your function is longer, please consult with us via telephone (x5172).

d. The primary plant materials used for university functions are Ficus benjamina (Weeping fig) and Nephrolepis exaltata (Boston fern). If you have a special request, please contact the Horticulture Center.

e. Plants can only be delivered on University property for official University functions. Plants can only be delivered to an interior area.  Cleanup prior to and after delivery will be the responsibility of the requesting party.

f. Flower arrangements: Requests for flower arrangements must be preceded with a consultation with Ms. Linda Ryan, Horticulture Instructor, at least three weeks prior to the event. Material cost for this request is the responsibility of the requesting department. A pink copy of the purchase request should accompany the request.  The Floral Design Request Form  should be faxed to ext. 5174.

Please call the SLU Horticulture Center at x5172 if you have any further questions.
