WHAT WILL SLU HUMAN RESOURCES BE LIKE IN THE FUTURE?
By-Lion Article - September 8, 1999
Just got married? Had a new baby? Changed your address?

In the future, there may be no need to make a visit to the Human Resources department at North Campus or even fill out a paper form for changes to your personal information.
When Project LEO’s Human Resources module is fully implemented in 2000, Southeastern employees needing to make changes to their benefits or personnel information will be able to update and review much of their personal data online throughout the year. Employees will be able to log on at their computers and instantly update their own personnel files.

Human Resources staff anticipate that employees will be able to access personal profile data such as address, phone, marital status, and dependent information; pay information including total earnings, taxes and deductions; and benefits summaries. In addition, employees will be able to view the current status of their flexible spending accounts, register for training or view job postings.

Other improvements anticipated as a result of Project LEO include an automation of routine tasks in the Human Resources office, allowing Human Resources staff to focus on strategic planning and customer service. HR Director Jessie Roberts reports that the system will continue to evolve to meet the University's needs over the next few years.
