Square dedication
Fanfare will launch its
22nd season by joining hands with the Hammond Downtown Development District
for the dedication of newly-renovated Cate Square, the site of many a Fanfare
kick-off. With a nod to the park’s rich history, the dedication will have
a light-hearted, old-fashioned family fun flare. Tap your toes to the spirited
ragtime and Dixieland tunes of the Southeastern Jazz Combos; enjoy the
smooth crooning of a barbershop quartet; snack on fluffy cotton candy and
sweet lemonade (available at the turn-of-the-century price of a nickel!),
and play games that never grow old, such as musical chairs and pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey.
