Art and the Environment
Fanfare salutes the environment, one of the major inspirations of creativity since the beginning of time. Louisiana artists against the destruction of the environment will present their works at Clark Hall and in a weeklong residency on campus the McLean Mix will display through music and a multi-media exibit the beauty and fragility of the rainforests. Children will get a fun lesson in environmental awareness from the musical Big Bad Wolf and the Endangered Forest. And Southeastern's dance company, danceworks, will tell in modern dance the legend of a Navajo earth godess.

Hungarian Settlement Harvest Celebration & Dance
Descendants of the Hungarians who settled here over a century ago celebrate their rich and colorful heritage. The Arpadhon Hungarian Settlement celebration includes a Hungarian dinner; dancing to the music of the Hungarian band "Eletfa"; a Hungarian Harvest Dance; and tours of Hungarian owned businesses and an historic church and cemetery.
Oct. 4, 9am-til, Hungarian Settlement, La. (Hwy. 190, south of Albany)
