Zabava
"Zabava" means "entertainment" or "fun" in Russian and that is exactly what this internationally renowned dance group offers. Assembled three years ago in Minsk, the 23-member troupe of dancers and instrumentalists made its graceful acrobatic leap into the international spotlight in 1994, winning the International Folk Dance Competition in Spain and thrilling television audiences worldwide as Russia's representative at the World Cup Soccer championship games in Chicago. Zabava's athletic and elegant dances embody the best of Russian folk dance and their multitude of exquisitely detailed handmade costumes are as colorful as their high-powered dancing.

New Orleans Ballet
Where the Wild Things Are

"The night Max wore his wolf suit and made mischief of one kind and another, his mother called him "WILD THING!" Countless children--and adults--have fallen in love with mischievous Max, who is sent to bed without his supper for typical little boy backtalk. In his imagination, he sails to a magical kingdom "where the wild things are." The artistry of the New Orleans Ballet brings to life Maurice Sendak's award-winning illustrations and his beloved story of Max 's masterful triumph over the marvelous Wild Things.
