Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre The Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre is widely acclaimed for its classical ballet masterpieces and innovative explorations of contemporary dance. Led by famed New York City Ballet dancer Patricia Wilde and American Ballet Theatre ballet master and former principal dancer Terrence S. Orr, the company has been molded into an excellent and exuberant cadre of dancers. Said the San Francisco Examiner, "The technical standards are high, the musicianship is surperior and the verve is infectious." Pittsburgh Ballet's program for Fanfare includes the George Balachine's classics, Stars and Stripes and Rubies. danceworks The Four Mountains Southeastern's resident dance company, danceworks, presents The Four Mountains, an original modern dance choreographed by Nicole Fassbender, Lillian Gray, Jeanne Labourdette and George Traylor and directed by danceworks artistic director Martie Fellom. The Four Mountains tellthe story of the Navajo deity Estsanatlehi, a kind-hearted earth goddess who symbolizes the ever-changing earth on which plants yearly grow, die and are born again. | ||||||||
