SOUTHEASTERN CHANNEL AIRS NEW SPORTS SHOW
HAMMOND -- A new student sports
show highlighting Southeastern Louisiana University athletic teams has
begun airing on the Southeastern Channel, the university's educational
access channel.
"The Big Game, a monthly 30-min.
show, will air at 6:30 p.m. on Thursdays on Charter Cable channel 18, said
General Manager Rick Settoon. The show includes video highlights, interviews
and special features on players and coaches of all Southeastern sports.
Southeastern students serve as show anchors and field reporters.
"This show gives area viewers
a look at all of the exciting sports teams and outstanding athletes at
Southeastern, those in the minor sports as well as the major ones," Settoon
said. "It also provides an excellent training ground for Southeastern students
interested in sports television."
The show's first episode, which
first aired on November 20 and will be rebroadcast in coming weeks, spotlights
the Southland Conference championship soccer team of coach Blake Hornbuckle
along with a recap of Southeastern's first football season in 18 years.
The program includes special features on defensive lineman Brett Beard
and volleyball star Sarah Gascon. Also included are season previews
of both men's and women's basketball teams and a look at fall action in
golf, tennis, volleyball, cross country and baseball.
The Southeastern Channel’s programming
schedule will be available online at www.selu.edu/sechannel beginning in
early December. |
