PUBLIC INVITED TO NORTH SHORE GUBERNATORIAL
FORUM SEPT. 10
The public is invited to attend the North Shore Gubernatorial Forum
scheduled 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, at Southeastern Louisiana University.
Individuals attending the forum can
park at no charge in the university’s north campus parking lots immediately
adjacent to the University Center, where the forum will be held. The University
Center is located at 700 West University Avenue in Hammond.
Designed to focus on economic development,
transportation and infrastructure issues associated with the north shore,
the forum is hosted by the chambers of commerce of the north shore; the
governments of Tangipahoa, St. Tammany and Washington parishes; and Southeastern.
Most of the major candidates in the
Oct. 4 gubernatorial election are scheduled to participate, said forum
chairman T. Jay Seale III of Hammond. A White Paper has been prepared for
the candidates, outlining 17 issues, complemented by charts and statistics,
dealing with the north shore region’s unprecedented growth. Copies of the
document are available online under the “headline” section of Southeastern’s
main webpage, www.selu.edu.
The forum will be broadcast live on
Access St. Tammany (Charter Cable Channel 10-St. Tammany), the Southeastern
Channel (Charter Cable 18-Tangipahoa and Livingston), and in Washington
Parish (Charter Cable 98), as well as Southeastern Louisiana University’s
90.9 KSLU, and Guaranty Broadcasting’s NorthShore104.7 and Sunny 106.1.
Other radio stations scheduled to carry the program include: WJBO, Baton
Rouge; KRVS, Lafayette; KVPI, Ville Platte; KSYL, Alexandria; KJAE, Leesville;
KQKI, Morgan City.
KSLU will also stream the forum live
on the internet at www.selu.edu/kslu.
Corporate sponsors for the forum include
