SOUTHEASTERN’S YEARBOOK EARNS DESIGN HONORS
HAMMOND -- The 2002 edition of
Southeastern Louisiana University’s yearbook, “Le Souvenir,” took second-place
honors for “student life design” in the Best of Collegiate Design competition
at the National College Media Advisers Conference.
The conference was held in Dallas
November 6-10.
The yearbook was recognized for
the design of a section that featured the university’s annual arts festival,
Fanfare. The section was designed by Southeastern graduates Brenda Bergeron
of Hammond and Chad Hebert of Marrero.
“Southeastern's yearbook finished
behind the University of Miami's yearbook and ahead of UCLA and Indiana,”
said Matt Tarver, director of student publications. Other schools in the
competition included Auburn, Kansas State, Vanderbilt, and Oklahoma.
The 2002 “Le Souvenir” was also
a semifinalist for citation in “Yearbook Yearbook,” an annual showcase
of best yearbooks issued by Taylor Publishing.
Last year, the 2001 “Le Souvenir”
placed fifth for organizations page design at the CMA conference. The 2001
“Le Souvenir” 2001 placed first, earning 850 out of 1000 possible points,
in the American Scholastic Press Association competition last December.
The staff also placed second for the 2000 yearbook’s cover design. |
