BATON ROUGE NATIVE IS  RECIPIENT OF NATIONAL AWARD
     HAMMOND --  Brad Hutchinson, Industrial Technology graduate from Southeastern
Louisiana University in Hammond,  has been selected as a recipient of the "1997 Outstanding
Industrial Technologist Award." This is a national award conferred by the National Association
of Industrial Technology (NAIT) in recognition of individuals who have distinguished
themselves through exemplary leadership and the applications of the principles of industrial
technology.
     The National Association of Industrial Technology is the specialized accreditation
authority for the field of industrial technology in higher education. Over 400 colleges and
universities offer degrees in industrial Technology. The Industrial Technology programs at
Southeastern Louisiana University are accredited by NAIT.
     Brad Hutchinson is currently employed as the Facility Manger of the Baton Rouge
Service Center-Goulds Pumps, Inc. His outstanding leadership abilities has lead his operation to
be a significant contributor to the profitability of Goulds Pumps, Inc. In an industry where profit
margins are typically low, his operations make an outstanding contribution to corporate profits. 
The Baton Rouge Center, which he manages, operates at a higher profit margin than the
aggregate earnings of four similar operations at Goulds.
     Mr. Hutchinson joined Goulds Pumps as an Engineering Coordinator in 1981. Two years
later, he was promoted to Service Sales Engineer. He has been responsible for the management
of the Baton Rouge Center since 1985. Hutchinson graduated from Southeastern Louisiana
University with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management Technology in 1980.  He has
served on the Industrial Advisory Committee of Southeastern Louisiana University for the last
ten years.
     A native of Baton Rogue, Louisiana Brad Hutchinson resides in Denham Springs with his
wife Caroline and sons Adam and Evan.
