SEVEN PLAYS ON LOUISIANA COLLEGE THEATRE FEST SCHEDULE
HAMMOND -- Theater lovers can enjoy four days of fine productions Nov. 17-21 when
Southeastern Louisiana University hosts the 27th annual Louisiana College Theatre Festival.
The festival, which is part of the Kennedy Center/American College Theatre Festival, will
include shows by seven Louisiana universities as well as workshops and lectures for the more
than 250 participating students and faculty.
The universities' full-scale production are all open to the public at Vonnie Borden
Theatre in D Vickers Hall. Tickets are $3, $2 for Southeastern students (no reserved seating).
The theatre box office will be open from 5-8 p.m., Nov. 17, 11:30 a.m.-1:15 p.m. and 6-8:15
p.m., Nov. 18-21.
Southeastern Theatre will open the festival with a production of Shirley Lauro's "A Piece
of My Heart" directed by Kay Files at 8:15 p.m., Nov. 17. Also on the schedule are:
November 18: 1:15 p.m., Loyola University, "The Twice-Born," by Ernest Serlita, S.J.,
directed by Trellis Stepter; 8:15 p.m., Louisiana Tech University, "Six Women With Brain Death
or Expiring Minds Want to Know," directed by Cherrie Sciro.
November 19: 1:15 p.m., McNeese State University, "Beatrice," by Susan Kelso, directed
by Susan Kelson; 8:15 p.m., University of New Orleans, "The Ladies of the Camellias," by
Lillian Garrett-Groag, directed by Cherie Ducote.
Nov. 20: 8:15 p.m., Northeast Louisiana University, "Quilters," by Molly Newman,
directed by Roger Held.
Nov. 21: 1:15 p.m., Dillard University, "I am a Man," by OyamO, directed by Alex
Marshall; 7:15 p.m., Louisiana College Theatre Fest awards ceremony.
