SLU's 1998-99 THEATRE SEASON FEATURES COMEDY &
DRAMA
HAMMOND -- Southeastern Louisiana University s department of Communications and
Theatre has announced productions for the 1998-99 season.
Opening the schedule is the regional premier of Private Eyes, a comic thriller directed
by Southeastern professor Kay M. Files. Private Eyes will be performed during the FANFARE
festival, October 6-10.
Southeastern professor Rebecca Boyles directs the drama, A Piece of My Heart
November 10-14. This powerful drama set in Viet Nam, will also be the university s entry in the
Louisiana College Theatre Festival, hosted by Southeastern November 17-21.
The Compleat Wrks of Wllm Shkspr take the stage in its hilariously abbreviated form
with Southeastern professor Cheryl Frederick directing and the final offering is Fortinbras
which guest director Wade Heaton says takes up where Shakespeare s Hamlet left off.
Season tickets for all four plays are $15 and $10 for students, senior citizens and SLU
faculty and staff. Individual ticket prices are $5 general admission, $3 students, senior citizens
and SLU faculty and staff, and free for SLU students. All performances are in the Vonnie Borden
Theatre. Tickets for the Louisiana College Theatre Festival are $3.00 for each performance. For
