SOUTHEASTERN'S VETERANS DAY CELEBRATION NOV 11
HAMMOND Southeastern Louisiana University's Office of Adult, Veterans and
Commuter Services is hosting a Veterans Day ceremony Wednesday, November 11 2pm-3pm in
the Student Union Park..
The guest speaker for the ceremony is Southeastern College of Business professor, David
Ramsey who is a major in the Louisiana National Guard. Paul Merck, head of the university
police and a retired army colonel is the master of ceremonies.
Academic awards will be presented to Southeastern students receiving veterans benefits
who received a 3.0 or better during the last two semesters.
Amite High School's Junior ROTC will be the color guard and the Southeastern's band
will also perform.
"Veterans Day is a national recognition of those who served in the armed forces. We
invite the public to join us as we take this opportunity to recognize our students and faculty who
have served our country," said Milas Love, director of Adult, Veterans and Commuter Services.
A reception will follow the ceremony in the Student Union commons. The public is
