For the second time, the Columbia is

The darlings of the Alternative movement,
Better Than Ezra hit it big when MTV and Alternative radio picked up the
single "Good" from their debut album “Deluxe,” causing the album to become
a national hit. "All Music Guide" said, "New Orleans trio Better Than Ezra
helped open the floodgates for countless chart-topping mainstream alt-pop
acts of the late by merging rock with melody and creating a more easily
digestible form of alternative music for the masses."
The band's second major label release,
"Friction, Baby," came in 1996, followed in 1998 by "How Does Your Garden
Grow" -- both featuring singles that charted in Billboard's Top 100 --
and "Closer" in 2001. Today, Better Than Ezra works out of its own recording
studio in New Orleans.
Fanfare, Southeastern’s annual arts
festival, will raise the curtain on the Columbia Theatre’s 2004-05 season
in October. For additional information about the festival and the Columbia’s
