SOUTHEASTERN CHANNEL TO AIR TAPE DELAYS OF LIONS FOOTBALL
HAMMOND -- The re-broadcast of
Southeastern Louisiana University's Aug. 30 home opener football game against
Arkansas-Monticello will air on the Southeastern Channel, Charter Cable
Channel 18, Tuesday, Sept. 2 at 7 p.m.
The Southeastern Channel, the
university's educational access channel, will also air the first episode
of the Hal Mumme Show Wednesday, Sept. 3, at 7 p.m.
"We're excited that local football
fans will be able to watch the return of Lion football each week on the
Southeastern Channel," said Rick Settoon, the channel's general manager.
"We'll have the full game broadcast and Coach Mumme's breakdown of each
contest."
According to Settoon, the Southeastern
Channel is airing the games and coach's show on a delayed basis because
of the university’s contract with Cox Sports Television, which produces
and initially airs the programs. The contract calls for a normal four-day
delay in re-airing the shows after the Cox broadcast with a two-day delay
in the event of a live game broadcast. Settoon said this week Tuesday
night was chosen to avoid competing with Monday Night Football.
After the Arkansas-Monticello game the first week, this season's games will be replayed at 7 pm. Thursdays and the Mumme show at 6:30 p.m., Fridays on the Southeastern Channel with the exception of the Oct. 4 McNeese State game, which will air the following Tuesday and Wednesday. |
