COMMUNITY MEETING SCHEDULED TO DISCUSS ISSUES ON RETURN OF
SOUTHEASTERN
FOOTBALL
HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana
University will hold a community meeting at 6 p.m. Monday (March 24) to
discuss issues related to the return of Lions’ football for the upcoming
2003 season and the upcoming spring scrimmage.
The meeting will be held in the Alumni
Center, 500 W. University Avenue. Residents near the university and the
general public are invited to the meeting where members of the Southeastern
administration and Athletic Department will entertain comments from area
residents and outline the university’s parking plans, anticipated traffic
flow and opportunities for tailgating parties on the campus.
The spring game, in which the offense
will scrimmage against the defense, is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, April
10, in Strawberry Stadium. Student parking in the stadium area will be
restricted beginning that afternoon.
“While we are all excited about football
returning to the Southeastern campus, we recognize that it also brings
with it some challenges, specifically in the area of traffic and parking,”
said university President Randy Moffett. “We want to minimize any inconvenience
for our neighbors and share with them our plans and expectations.”
To RSVP or for more information, contact
the Athletic Department at 549-2253. |
