SOUTHEASTERN SPRING 2004 EARLY REGISTRATION BEGINS NOV. 10
HAMMOND -- Early registration for Southeastern Louisiana University's spring 2004 semester is scheduled for November 10-14.
E-mail notices of early registration are being sent to students eligible to participate in the early class scheduling.
Southeastern officials stressed that only students in good financial standing with the university will be allowed to participate in the early registration class selection process. For a student to be in good financial standing, all debts must be paid prior to early registration, officials said.
"Collection" holds, which prevent students from registering and from receiving transcripts or diplomas, will be placed on delinquent student accounts.  Students must pay balances in full in order for the holds to be removed. Questions regarding collection holds should be referred to the Controller's Office, 985-549-2068.
Students can access their campus e-mail accounts through the "WebMail" link on the university's homepage, www.selu.edu. They also can view class schedules, check registration appointments and verify online balances and holds by clicking on the homepage "LEO" icon and logging in with their university I.D. number and email password to the LEONet--Stude nts link.
Students are also reminded to make appointments with their department for academic advising, if advising is required.
Students can early register from any computer with Internet access, and at computer labs on campus and at the St. Tammany and Baton Rouge Centers.
The spring 2004 semester begins Tuesday, January 20. Students who register early can drop and add classes January 6-9 and must pay fees by 4:30 p.m., January 9.  Fee payment instructions are available online at www.selu.edu/Administration/Dep ts/Controller. All tuition must be paid by the payment deadline or classes will be canceled.
Spring 2004 regular registration  is January 12-15 for new students, students who did not meet the early registration fee payment deadline, and those who did not early register.
For information on early registration, call 985-549-2066, 985-549-2062, or 1-800-222-7358.
