SOUTHEASTERN FE-LIONS HOST FIRST SPIRIT LUNCHEON ON AUGUST
28
HAMMOND -- The Southeastern Louisiana
University FE-Lions, a group of “F(emale) E(nthusiasts)” of Lions football,
will host their first luncheon meeting on Thursday, August 28.
The new group, which is designed
as a fun and spirit-oriented social organization, will meet at noon at
Murphy’s Restaurant, 1700 N. Morrison Boulevard in Hammond. Head Football
Coach Hal Mumme and his assistants will be special guests.
The FE-Lions have scheduled subsequent
luncheons at Murphy’s on the Thursday preceding each Southeastern home
football game, with the exception of Homecoming Week (October 13-18). That
week, said FE-Lion coordinator Pam Skibinski, the FE-Lions will team up
for an event with the Gridiron Club. Luncheon dates are August 28, September
4, October 2, November 6, and November 13.
Tickets for each noon luncheon
meeting are $12 per person. “To join the FE-Lions, send a check made out
to ‘Southeastern FE-Lions’ for $10 annual dues, plus an additional $12
for each meeting you plan to attend,” Skibinski said. The check should
be mailed by August 15 to the Southeastern Alumni Center, 500 West University
Ave., Hammond, LA 70401.
She said new members can also
pay their dues and luncheon fee at the door on August 28.
