SOUTHEASTERN’S JUNE WILLIAMS
SELECTED AS ACCA PRESIDENT
HAMMOND- June Williams, an assistant
professor of human development at Southeastern Louisiana University, has
been elected as president of the American College Counseling Association.
The national organization offers
support and enhancement to students and professionals in the field of collegiate
counseling.
Williams, a licensed professional
counselor, earned her master’s and doctoral degrees in counselor education
from the University of New Orleans. A member of the human development
faculty since 2000, she previously served as assistant dean of Student
Life at Southeastern and assistant director of the University Counseling
Center.
Williams has published articles
in magazines and journals such as “Adultspan” and
“Journal of Young Adulthood.” She is a member of the Association
for Adult Development and Aging, Association for Counselor Education and
Supervision, Chi Sigma Iota, Counseling Academic and Professional Honor
Society International and the Louisiana College Counseling Association. |
