KSLU HELPS WITH KATRINA CLEAN UP – Staff
members from KSLU (90.9 FM), Southeastern Louisiana University’s public
radio station, recently volunteered for Hurricane Katrina clean up in the
Lakeview area of New Orleans. The KSLU crew went to the aid of one of their
own, student disk jockey Nick Albert of Covington, whose grandfather’s
home had been severely damaged by flooding from the 17th Street Canal.
Posed in front of Jules Albert’s home are, from left, Nick Albert, Colin
Albert, Interim General Manager Todd Delaney, student DJs Stefanie Collins
of Robert and Adelita Gomez of Hammond, Business Manager Mary Heleniak,
and Jules Albert. KSLU also partnered with National Public Radio to distribute
donated emergency radios to hurricane victims in St. Tammany and St. Bernard
parishes. |
