SOUTHEASTERN PIANIST PRESENTS FREE RECITAL SEPT. 26
HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana University pianist Kenneth Boulton will present a free concert Sept. 26 at the university’s Pottle Music Building Auditorium.
Assistant professor of music and director of Southeastern’s Community Music School, Boulton will perform Francis Poulenc’s “Suite Francaise,” Mozart’s “Sonata in B-flat major, K. 333,” Chopin’s “Fantasy in F minor, Op. 49,” Gabriel Fauré’s “Nocturne in B-flat major, Op. 37,” and Lowell Liebermann’s “Three Impromptus, Op. 68.”
The concert is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
Boulton has performed widely as soloist and chamber musician throughout the United States and in Europe. His debut recordings of Elie Siegmeister’s major works for solo piano, released on compact disc by Naxos, have garnered international critical acclaim and have been described by “Classics Today” as “dynamically charged, fiercely committed, and brilliantly virtuostic.”
A Seattle native, Boulton earned his bachelor’s degree from Washington State University.  In addition, he has a master’s and doctoral degree in piano performance from the University of Maryland at College Park, where his teachers included Nelita True and Thomas Schumacher.
