SOUTHEASTERN LIONETTES HOLD “WARMUP” FOR ON FEB. 8
HAMMOND -- Southeastern Louisiana
University’s dance team, the Lionettes, will hold "Lionette Warmup"
– the team’s annual introduction and information event for potential dancers
– on Saturday, February 8 at the university’s Pennington Student Activity
Center.
Lionette Warmup begins at 4:30
p.m. Participants are invited to join the team for dinner and to attend
the 7 p.m. Southeastern Lions basketball game at the University Center.
“This is a fun and casual opportunity
for current college students, high school
seniors and their parents or coaches to see us perform and learn more
about our team and
tryout requirements,” said Lionettes Director Melissa Bordelon. “Dancers
who attend this event will know exactly what will be required of them at
our April tryouts.”
As Southeastern’s official dance
team, the Lionettes represent Southeastern at athletic and other university
and community events. The team participates in Universal Dance Association
competition and currently is ranked third in the nation among NCAA Division
I schools.
Southeastern offers partial scholarships
for 12 dancers.
Interested dancers can register
for Lionette Warmup by e-mailing lionettes@selu.edu
or contacting Bordelon at 985-549-5678. |
