BALLARD APPOINTED TO INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION
BOARD
HAMMOND – Mary Brown Ballard,
associate professor in Southeastern Louisiana University’s Department of
Human Development, has been named to the board of directors of the International
Association of Marriage and Family Counselors (IAMFC).
Ballard will serve as an “at-large”
member of the board of IAMFC, the largest affiliate division of the American
Counseling Association with 8,500 members worldwide and regional and state
chapters in more than 30 states and five foreign countries.
A member of the Southeastern
faculty since 1995, she has worked as an employee assistance program counselor
for Health Management Systems of America and the U.S. Postal Service in
Baton Rouge. She is a former school counselor in New Orleans and speech
communications teacher in Livingston Parish.
Ballard is a member of the editorial
board of the “Louisiana Journal of Counseling,” having served as editor
of the publication for four years. She holds a bachelor’s degree in speech
communications education from Southeastern and masters and doctorate degrees
in counselor education from the University of New Orleans. |
