SOUTHEASTERN “MEET THE COACHES” TOUR AUG. 3-5 IN MANDEVILLE, BATON
ROUGE, AMITE
HAMMOND – Southeastern
Louisiana University head football coach Dennis Roland and new men’s basketball
head coach Jim Yarbrough will a head a north shore “Meet the Coaches Tour”
next week with stops in Mandeville, Baton Rouge and Amite.
The tour begins Aug. 3
in St. Tammany Parish when the head coaches along with Southeastern athletes
from St. Tammany and Washington Parishes visit Benedict’s, 1144 N. Causeway
Blvd. in Mandeville. The event, sponsored by the FELions, begins at noon.
Tickets are $13, and fans wishing to attend should call 985-549-2150 for
reservations.
Also on Aug. 3, fans from
the Baton Rouge/Denham Springs/Gonzales area can meet the head coaches
and Baton Rouge area athletes when the Red Stick Alumni Chapter hosts the
second leg of the coaches’ tour from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Baton Rouge
home of David Brian, 19444 Perkins Road. Free jambalaya will be served.
The Florida Parishes Arena
in Amite will be the tour’s final stop from 4-6 p.m. on Aug. 5. The
event, hosted by the Tangi Alumni Chapter, is free to the public and will
also feature free jambalaya.
During the tour, Southeastern
fans and friends will have the opportunity to talk about the Lions’ 2005
football team, which is set to play its inaugural Southland Conference
slate, as well as the 2005-06 Southeastern basketball team, which is coming
off two straight SLC regular-season championships and its first-ever appearance
in the NCAA Championships.
