Competing in the annual pageant were Alaina Champagne, Miss Slidell; Heather Williams, Miss Southeastern; Jennifer Soileau, Miss Baker Buffalo; Kara DePingre, Miss Minden; and Blaire Abene, Miss Dixie Gem Peach. Abene was chosen as one of the 10 pageant finalists and performed an Italian aria on the live television broadcast. As a finalist, she was awarded a $1,900 scholarship. Williams and Soileau, who held the Miss Southeastern title in 2003, were among six non-finalist talent winners, earning $700 scholarships. Soileau also received the Miss Congeniality award for the second year in a row. The award includes a $1,000 scholarship.
