News release Public Information Office  SLU 10880   Hammond, LA 70402   phone: 985-549-2341   fax: 985-549-2061 publicinfo@selu.edu Spring 2004 news releases Public Information home News archive Contact: Angey Murray Date: 3/24/05   SOUTHEASTERN STUDENTS PRESENT DANCE CONCERT APRIL 7        HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana University dance students and Office of Student Creative Activities and Research (OSCAR) grant recipients Jennifer Buck of Harvey and Jessica Lee of Kentwood will present “A Moment Frozen” April 7 at 7:30 p.m. in Vonnie Borden Theatre on the Southeastern campus.        The multimedia dance event is described by Buck and Lee as incorporating an ongoing theme of environmental awareness, using the fundamentals of global warming combined with traditional folklore to construct a narrative dance story. The concert will fuse its story with drama, vocalization, visual art, original musical composition, live musical performance, video projection, and several styles of dance, including modern, hip-hop, jazz, tribal and ballet.          The 46 performers for the evening’s performance are Jodie Sandifer of Albany; Marshon Briggs, Kevin Coates, Kayla Griffin, Moses Jones, Daphne Lamendola, Lauren Landry and Carrie Mire of Baton Rouge; Rebecca Collins and Stacie Sabathe of Chalmette; Tim Tregle of Collierville, Tenn.; Caree Angelle-Hawkins, Sam Babylon, Megan Camardelle, Lyric Cox, Amanda Kinsey, Reve Link and Jennifer Schurr of Covington; Vanessa Seaux of Duson; Micah Richerand of Folsom; Thurman Fields of Deridder; and Jennifer “J.B.” Buck of Harvey.        Also, Janelle Bourgeois, Jarrod Cashe, Kristen Crawford, Chris Gagliardo, Sarah Harris, Meghan Maestri and Wendy Tumblin of Hammond; Stephen Hux of Harahan; Rory Kruithoff of Holland, Mich.; Elizabeth Hughes and Jessica Lee of Kentwood; Corey Brown, Donya Chauvanel and Shironda Williams of LaPlace; Jada Foret of Lockport; A.J. Allulli of Mandeville; Shaylyn Ducoing of Lafitte; Kevin Estoque, Jerard Isaac, Anthony "A.J." Jackson and Kyle Smith of New Orleans; Ashley Jones and Shiloh Klein of Ponchatoula; and Colin Hebert of Westwego.         Tatum Neill will serve as a guest speaker.        OSCAR is one of several Southeastern’s programs designed to foster undergraduate research and creative opportunities whereby students collaborate with faculty on projects. The university offers grants to students to enable them to develop the projects, purchase equipment and supplies or travel related to their projects. Similar programs are available in all Southeastern’s academic colleges.        General admission for “A Moment Frozen” is $4, Southeastern students are admitted free with a valid ID.
