"MOVERS AND SHAKERS" HIGHLIGHTS SOUTHEASTERN PROGRAMS
HAMMOND – “Movers and Shakers,”
a new show spotlighting Southeastern Louisiana University faculty and programs,
will debut on June 14 on the Southeastern Channel, the university's educational
access channel.
The 30-minute talk show
produced by the channel, which will air each Tuesday at 7:30 p.m., features
interviews with university faculty members and administrators discussing
the latest cutting-edge projects and academic programs on campus.
Featured in the pilot episode
are award-winning poet Jack Bedell, associate professor of English, who
talks about the new graduate creative writing program, and David Evenson,
head of the Department of Music and Dramatic Arts, who discusses recent
developments and offerings in Southeastern's renowned music program.
"Movers and Shakers" is
hosted by graduate student Whitney Magee of Franklinton, who also co-anchors
the channel’s award-winning "Southeastern Times."
"'Movers and Shakers' showcases
the high caliber of faculty, administration and academic programs at Southeastern,"
said Rick Settoon, general manager of the Southeastern Channel. "It
reveals the great amount of innovation and rich academic activity on campus."
The Southeastern Channel
can be viewed on Charter Cable Channel 18 in Tangipahoa, St. Tammany and
Livingston Parishes and on Channel 17 in Washington Parish. |
