SOUTHEASTERN DANCERS PRESENT SPRING CONCERTS
HAMMOND -- Students from Southeastern Louisiana University's IZZY Moving Dance
Theatre will present a modern dance concert, "Moving Voices," on Thursday, February 22 at
7:30 p.m. in Pottle Music Auditorium.
"Moving Voices" explores the use of voice and movement to convey various themes,
such as multi-cultural tolerance, choosing a mate, and discovering the joy of flight in dance.
Some pieces of the performance are adult-related, not suitable for children.
IZZY dancers are Nichole Brown of Tickfaw, Jessica Burke of Covington, Donya
Chavanel of LaPlace, Nathalie Croix of France, Michele Cudd of Hammond, Carolyn Fulton of
Reserve, Lesley Kernan of Prairieville, Grace Latino of Metairie, Jonathan McGee of
Ponchatoula, Jennifer Molero of Chalmette, Laura Read of New Olreans, and Debbie Rodriguez
of Chalmette.
Southeastern dance instructor Dana Brewer-Plazinic is the director and choreographer of
"Moving Voices." Proceeds from the concert will be used to fund an April trip to New York,
where IZZY Moving Dance Theatre has been accepted for three performances at the Bridge
theatre.
General admission is $5, $3 for senior citizens and Southeastern faculty, staff and
students. For additional information, call 549-2133.
