AREA EDUCATORS INVITED TO JULY 29 NORTH SHORE CONFERENCE ON TECHNOLOGY IN THE CLASSROOM
      HAMMOND – Area educators are invited to participate in the first annual Northshore Excellence in Teaching with Technology (NETT) Conference July 29 at the Southeastern Louisiana University St. Tammany Center. 
      Co-sponsored by Southeastern and Delgado Community College, the conference is open to university faculty as well as area kindergarten-high school teachers. It will illustrate the latest innovations in the use of technology to enhance teaching and learning. Participants can explore technologies, learn about strategies and tools, and leave ready to infuse their courses with technology.  
      Topics include distance learning, computer based instruction, devices in the classroom, digital imaging, web development, and instructional design.
      The keynote speaker will be Southeastern math professor Lou Schultz, who has been a consultant to more than 100 school districts and a member of numerous committees on educational reform. He has served as a national consultant on technology design and implementation. 
      An accomplished list of presenters will represent the St. Tammany Parish school system, Southeastern, and Delgado. They include, from St. Tammany Parish, Terry Toney of Fontainebleau High School and Hope Caime of the St. Tammany Instructional Technology Center; from Southeastern, Angela Dunnington and Mary Marx, Sims Memorial Library; Cathy Holland, Baton Rouge School of Nursing; Stella Helluin, accounting; Laura Zammit, Center for Faculty Excellence; Harold E. Davis, accounting; Martie Fellom, music and dramatic arts; and Angie Anderson, history and political science; and, from Delgado, Christine Mitchell, English; Shannon Meadows, biology; Frank Smith, technology.
