TECHNOLOGY IN TEACHING CONFERENCE SCHEDULED JULY 29
HAMMOND -- The second annual Northshore Excellence in Teaching with Technology conference will be held at Southeastern Louisiana University’s St. Tammany Center in Mandeville on Friday, July 29.
Entitled “Get Connected! Teachers and Technology,” the NETT conference is co-sponsored by Southeastern and Delgado Community College. The fee for the conference is $20 and lunch is included. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged by clicking on the NETT registration form at www.selu.edu/sttammanycenter.
Keynote speaker at the conference is Nan Adams of Southeastern’s Department of Educational Leadership and Technology. In her presentation, “Digital Intelligence,” she will explore how technology influences the learning process. Adams has an extensive record of publications and presentations related to teaching, learning and technology. She has taught at all levels of education and works directly with candidates in the teacher technology preparedness program at Southeastern.
The conference will include presentations by educators from higher education, community college and K-12 levels, who will share their technology teaching and learning experiences. Also featured is a presentation by Mike Abbiatti, associate commissioner of the Louisiana Board of Regents, who will speak on Merlot (“Multimedia Educational Resource for Learning and Online Teaching”), a free resource providing links to online learning materials for educators.
