SLU MUSIC ENSEMBLES TO PRESENT "PRISM" CONCERT MARCH 8
     HAMMOND -- The Southeastern Louisiana University vocal and instrumental
ensembles will join forces on Thursday, March 8 at 7:30 p.m., for the Department of Music and
Dramatic Arts' second "Prism Concert."
     The concert will feature a variety of both faculty and student talent, including
performances by the Concert Choir, Chamber Winds, Faculty Brass Quintet, Women's Ensemble
and Clarinet Choir.
     The free performance will be held at Hammond's First United Methodist Church, 2200
Rue Denise, just off South Morrison Blvd. 
     Highlights of the program include Gabrieli's "In Eclesiis," performed by the Chamber
Winds and "Heart We Will Forget Him" by the Women's Ensemble.  Dr. Dirk Garner, director
of choral activities, will conduct the Concert Choir and Women's Ensemble, and Glen
Hemberger, director of bands, will conduct the Chamber Winds, Faculty Brass Quintet and
Clarinet Choir.
     Also on the program will be a solo performance by music students Amanda Tarver,
mezzo-soprano, and Ana Catalina Ramirez, clarinet.
