First round of workshops scheduled Sept. 20-23


SOUTHEASTERN’S SMALL BUSINESS CENTER OFFERS WORKSHOPS ON SBA DISASTER LOAN PROGRAM
       HAMMOND -- Southeastern Louisiana University’s Small Business Development Center will offer another round of workshops designed to assist area businesses in completing applications for the Small Business Administration (SBA) Disaster Loan Program.
       Workshops are scheduled Monday, Sept. 26 through Friday, Sept. 30, in Tangipahoa, Washington, Livingston and St. Tammany parishes.
       “The SBA Disaster Loan Program is designed to provide assistance to businesses in a declared disaster area that have suffered damage or loss of sales due to the hurricane,” said William Joubert, director of the center. He said business center staff have been trained in filing disaster loan applications and can guide individuals through the process.
       The workshops are scheduled as follows:
       -- Monday, Sept. 26, 9 a.m. – noon, Southeast Louisiana Business Center, 1514 Martens Drive, Hammond;
       -- Tuesday, Sept. 27, 9 a.m. – noon; and 1 p.m. – 4 p.m., Bogalusa, Chamber of Commerce, 608 Willis Ave., Bogalusa;
       -- Wednesday, Sept. 28, 9 a.m. – noon; and 1 p.m. – 4 p.m., Fontainebleau Jr. High School, 100 Bulldog Drive, Mandeville; 
       -- Thursday, Sept. 29, 9 a.m. – noon; and 1 p.m. – 4 p.m., Louisiana DOTD Federal Credit Union, 1620 South Range Ave., Denham Springs;
       -- Friday, Sept. 30, 9 a.m. – noon, St. Tammany Parish Library Slidell Branch, 555 Robert Blvd., Slidell.
       Participants should bring any available information regarding their businesses, including income tax returns, balance sheets, profit and loss statements, descriptions of damage and proof of insurance.
