SLU SBDC SPONSORING SEMINARS ON WOMEN IN BUSINESS, QUICKBOOKS
      HAMMOND -- Southeastern Louisiana University’s Small Business Development Center will partner with area chambers of commerce to host upcoming seminars for women in business and using “Quickbooks.”
      Space is still available in both classes, said William Joubert, director of Economic and Business Development.
      On July 15, the SBDC and Hammond Chamber of Commerce will host “Communication and Leadership Strategies for Women in Business," a seminar designed to teach women survival skills for today's business environment. The speaker is Lois Anglin of Anglin and Associates, Inc.   The seminar will be held at Rockwood Inn and Suites (formerly the Ramada Inn) on Morrison Ave in Hammond from 9 a.m. until noon. The seminar costs $20 ($10 for Hammond Chamber members). Refreshments will be provided. 
      The SBDC will partner with the St. Tammany West Chamber of Commerce to host “Using and Understanding QuickBooks Pro” July 21 and July 23. The two-night course will be held at Southeastern’s St. Tammany Center on Koop Drive near Mandeville from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 pm.
      Joubert will be the instructor and will cover topics such as creating invoices and tracking receivables, generating reports and graphs, entering and paying bills, and tracking and paying sales tax. 
      The cost of the seminar is $100.  Pre-payment is required and seating is limited.
