News release Public Information Office   SLU 10880   Hammond, LA 70402   phone: 985-549-2341   fax: 985-549-2061 publicinfo@selu.edu     www.selu.edu/news Contact: Angey Saucier Date: 8/12/03   SBDC OFFERS SMALL BUSINESS CERTIFICATE PROGRAM       HAMMOND – The Small Business Development Center at Southeastern Louisiana University, along with the St. Tammany West Chamber of Commerce, will host its Small Business Certificate Program on Thursdays from September 4 to November 6.        The series of seminars is designed to give entrepreneurs pertinent information for their businesses in the areas of management, marketing, finance and accounting.        Class dates and topics are:        September -- September 4, Small Business Basics; September 11, Preparing a Business Plan; September 18, Financing Your Business; September 25, Understanding Financials.        October -- October 2, Excellent Customer Service; October 9, Marketing Your Business; October 16, Finding, Hiring, and Keeping Employees; October 23, Tax Planning and Insurance Tips; October 30, Computer Essentials.       November -- November 6, Smart Start.       Each session will be held from 5-8 p.m. at the Southeastern St. Tammany Center on Koop Drive in Mandeville.
