SOUTHEASTERN CHANNEL TO AIR LION FOOTBALL PRE-SEASON PREVIEW
HAMMOND -- An insightful preview of the first Southeastern Louisiana University football team in 18 years will highlight the Lions' pre-season television show, "2003 Southeastern Football: Roaring Back to Life," produced by the Southeastern Channel.
The show will air at 7 pm. Wednesday, August 13, on the Southeastern Channel, the university's cable access channel on Charter Cable Channel 18, and will be rebroadcast at 7 pm. Friday, August 15, and at 9 pm., Saturday, August 16.
Lion head coach Hal Mumme and defensive coordinator Woody Widenhofer examine team strengths heading into the fall campaign while offering a scouting report on the Lions' 2003 opponents.
Included are interviews with players such as quarterback Seth Babin, defensive end Steven Smith of Kentwood, and Brett Beard, a transfer defensive tackle from Vanderbilt.
The show also covers the step-by-step process in rebuilding the football program since the initial press conference in May 2002 announcing the revival of Southeastern football.
"Area football fans will get an exciting, up-close look at how Hal Mumme has developed this first Lions' team since the day he became head coach," said Rick Settoon, general manager of the Southeastern Channel. "The show also provides an idea of what to expect from the Lions this fall and in the years to come."
The program was produced by Todd Dunnington, operations manager of the Southeastern Channel.
The Southeastern Channel will broadcast replays of the Lions' football games along with the Hal Mumme Show this fall.
