SLU THEATRE PRESENTS "SOME THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE
THE WORLD ENDS (A FINAL EVENING WITH THE ILLUMINATI)"
HAMMOND Levi Lee and Larry Larson's "Some Things You Need to Know Before
the World Ends (A Final Evening With the Illuminati)" is the last production of the spring season
by the Southeastern Louisiana University Theatre.
The play, directed by guest director Selisa Hue, will be presented April 24-28 at 7:30 p.m.
in the Vonnie Borden Theatre in D Vickers Hall on Southeastern's Hammond campus.
"Illuminati," a post-holocaust farce, depicts the Reverend Eddie (Clarence Wethern of
Mandeville) as he prepares to deliver his final sermon, "Life Is Like a Basketball Game," in a
bombed-out sanctuary of a church.
Throughout the production, Rev. Eddie embarks on wildly funny skits, including a
discussion between Saint Paul and Saint Thomas on the shaky position of women in religion, an
applicant for sainthood agonizing over what form of martyrdom to pursue, and a showdown with
the devil on the basketball court.
Starring as Brother Lawrence, Rev. Eddie's faithful hunch-back sidekick, is Shane
Stewart of Greensburg. Set design is by Misty Pelas of Hammond, lights by Katherine Duvic of
Covington and sound by Jonathan Majoue' of Baton Rouge.
Tickets for "Illuminati" are currently available at the theatre box office between 10 a.m.
and 2 p.m. Tickets will remain on sales each day and evening of the performances and may be
reserved in advance by calling the box office at 985-549-2115.
Ticket prices are $5 general admission, $3 students and senior citizens, Southeastern
students free with a valid ID.
