ALUMNI CAN GET REPLACEMENT DIPLOMAS, TRANSCRIPTS; ASKED TO UPDATE
CONTACT INFORMATION
HAMMOND – Southeastern
Louisiana University alumni who lost diplomas or transcripts during hurricanes
Katrina and Rita can get free replacements for a limited time through the
university’s Alumni Association.
Alumni Director Kathy Pittman
said the free document replacement service is being offered as part of
the association’s efforts to reach out to alumni affected by the disasterous
storms.
The Alumni Association,
she said, is also asking displaced alumni to provide updated contact information.
“We want to hear from all of our alumni and friends impacted by the recent
storms,” said Pittman. “Our main concern is making sure everyone and their
families are safe and accounted for.”
The association’s message
comes on the eve of the university’s Homecoming week, which was also affected
by the recent natural disasters. Originally scheduled for early October,
the celebration was moved to Nov. 7-12 to accommodate students, alumni,
faculty and staff impacted by the storms.
To requests diplomas or
transcripts or submit new contact information, alumni may email slualumni@selu.edu
or call 1-800-SLU-ALUM. Contact information may also be mailed to the Alumni
Association, 500 W. University Ave., Hammond, LA, 70401. An address/information
update form is also available online at www.selu.edu/alumni
(under the “Membership” link).
Alumni are reminded that
Southeastern’s Homecoming football game is set for Nov. 12 against Nicholls
State University, with a 6 p.m. kickoff in Strawberry Stadium. Further
information on Homecoming activities may also be found at www.selu.edu/alumni. |
