AUGUST 15 IS FALL 2004 APPLICATION DEADLINE
HAMMOND – Aug. 15 is the deadline for
students to apply for admission to Southeastern Louisiana University for
the fall 2004 semester. No applications will be accepted after the deadline,
university officials said.
Students may apply online at www.selu.edu/apply
or in person in room 113 of the North Campus Main Building. The application
fee is $20 through July 15 and $70 after that date.
Current Southeastern students and students
who have been fully accepted by the university will have two chances to
register for fall classes in July. The dates coincide with Southeastern’s
freshman orientation for beginning freshman. Current students and those
students who have been fully accepted into the university by July 13 may
register July 14-15, and those current and accepted by July 20 may register
July 21-22.
Regular registration is scheduled for
Aug. 17-19 with fall 2004 classes beginning Aug. 23. Late registration
is scheduled for Aug. 23-25.
To apply to Southeastern, beginning
freshmen must meet one of three requirements: an ACT composite of at least
20, ranking in the upper 50 percent of their high school graduating class
or at least a 2.0 high school grade point average on 17.5 units of English,
mathematics, social studies, science and other core courses. In addition
to these requirements, students who need more than one developmental course
will not be fully admitted to Southeastern.
To meet developmental requirements,
students can also cross-enroll in a community college to take one or more
of their needed remedial courses while simultaneously taking Southeastern
courses, or they can enroll in a community college and transfer to Southeastern
after successfully completing developmental work.
