APRIL ENCORE EVENTS SPOTLIGHT MUSIC FACULTY
HAMMOND --Southeastern Louisiana University's Music Department's "Encore!"
spring concert series continues with the focus on faculty performances in the month of April.
Featured faculty concerts include a brass recital, group jazz recital, woodwind duo, and
individual piano and saxophone recitals.
Also performing this month are the SLU student orchestra, concert choir and chamber
ensemble. Guest artist is soprano Evelyn de la Rosa.
All performance take place at 7:30 pm in the Pottle Music Building Auditorium and
Admission is free.
Chamber Ensemble Wednesday, April 2.
David Evenson will perform in a faculty piano recital Thursday, April 3.
David Wright will perform in a faculty saxophone recital Monday, April 7.
Professors Mark Auffarth, trumpet and Harry Watters, trombone will perform in a faculty
brass recital Thursday, April 10.
Frank Dubuy will conduct the SLU wind ensemble Monday, April 14.
Sarah Beth Hanson, flute and Patricia Martin, clarinet perform in a faculty woodwind
recital Tuesday, April 15.
Professors Willis Delony, Harry Watters, Mark Auffarth, Leon Anderson, Hank Mackie,
David Wright and John Palensky will perform in a faculty jazz recital Thursday, April 17.
Soprano Evelyn de la Rosa is the guest artist Monday, April 21.
It's the students' turn when the SLU Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Willis Delony,
performs Thursday, April 24.
Yakov Voldman conducts the SLU Orchestra Tuesday, April 29.
The SLU Concert Choir performs Wednesday, April 30. Brad Richmond is the conductor.
