ARAMARK, BOOKSTORE DONATION'S TO FUND "APPLY EARLY" INCENTIVE
HAMMOND -- Representatives of ARAMARK, Southeastern Louisiana University's
food service contractor, and Southeastern's Follett College Bookstore have donated $7,800 to the
university to fund prizes for a special "Apply Early!" incentive for students.
As Southeastern gears up for initiating quality admission standards next fall, the
university is urging students to apply for admission as soon as possible. Those who apply by
March 1 and enroll for the fall 2000 semester will be eligible for a drawing for high-tech
academic tools such as laptop computers, graphing calculators and hand-held personal
organizers.
Winners will be drawn on the first day of the fall 2000 semester, August 21.
Under Southeastern's new admission's policy, incoming freshmen will have to meet one
of the following criteria: high school core grade point average of 2.0 or better; ACT composite
score of 20 or better; or high school graduation ranking of 50 percent or better.
Students or parents who have questions about Southeastern's new admission policy can
contact SLU Enrollment Services (1-800-222-SELU) for a brochure on "Frequently Asked
Questions about Southeastern's Quality Admission Standards." For additional information about
applying for admissions, they can contact SLU Enrollment Services, 1-800-222-SELU or click
on www.selu.edu to apply online at the "Prospective Students" link.
