WORKS BY SOUTHEASTERN FACULTY, GUEST ARTISTS ON DISPLAY
HAMMOND – Galleries at Southeastern
Louisiana University are displaying the works of faculty and guests artists
during the month of February.
The Contemporary Art Gallery
in East Stadium features a variety of art works by 23 members of the Visual
Arts Department faculty, while an installation piece by sculptor Ann Boudreau
and ceramic work by artist Sin Ying is on display in Sims Memorial Library.
The Faculty Exhibition 2005 will
be open through Feb. 20, while the library exhibits can be viewed through
Feb. 27 in the first and second floor lobbies.
Faculty artists contributing
to the Contemporary Art Gallery exhibit are Visual Arts Department Head
Dennis Sipiorski, former Department Head Roy Blackwood, retired faculty
member Barbara Tardo and current faculty members Gail Hood, Kim Finley-Stansbury,
Ron Kennedy, Gary Keown, Irene Nero, Dale Newkirk, Jennifer Odem, John
Valentino, Rancy Boyd-Snee, April Hammock, Lynda Katz, Robert Labranche,
Julie Naquin, Lori Penn, Philip Read, Lori Reed, Alexander Stolin, Lisa
Unterbrink, Susan Wingard and Merrie Wright.
Contemporary Art Gallery hours are
8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., weekdays, with extended hours until 8 p.m. on Wednesdays.
Library hours are 7:30 a.m.-11 p.m., Monday-Thursday; 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.,
Friday; 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday; and 2-11 p.m., Sunday.
The gallery and library will be closed
Feb. 7-8 and until noon on Feb. 9 for the Mardi Gras holidays. For additional
