HAMMOND -- The Southeastern Louisiana University Horticulture Club will sponsor

Horticulture Club President Vallery Gorenflo.
Matt Westmoreland, propagation manager for Westfarms Nursery in Franklinton, will be
the instructor. Westmorland is a senior at Southeastern, majoring in business management with a

Gorenflo said the Horticulture Club also has received a Southeastern Student Government
Association grant to replant azaleas in from of Pursley Hall on North Oak Street.
"We are inviting members of the Hammond and campus communities to join us at 1 p.m.
on Wednesday, November 14," said Gorenflo. "First, we will take cuttings of the current azaleas
for propagation purposes. The old shrubs will be removed and the ground prepared for new
plants. We will plant during the afternoon."
