| SOUTHEASTERN TO HOST BUSINESS AND TECHNOLOGY WEEK
HAMMOND -- More than 90 guest speakers will bring the real world of business and industry into Southeastern Louisiana University’s College of Business and Technology classrooms, November 4-8, during the college’s annual Business and Technology Week. The speakers represent a variety of business and industry career fields, including corporate presidents, chief financial officers, attorneys, business consultants, public officials, Certified Public Accountants, human resource managers, and project coordinators, said Lynn Stirling, coordinator of Business and Technology Week. Among the week’s guest speakers are state Rep. Hunt Downer; Maria Eugenia Lobo, consul general of Honduras; Gonzalo Calderon, consul general of Costa Rica; retired Chief Judge William Norris III of the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals; and acting state Commissioner of Insurance Robert Wooley. “The purpose of the program is to bring our college closer to the community we serve and to allow our students to benefit from real world business and industry leaders from throughout the region,” Stirling said. Stirling said students enrolled in business classes will be given first priority to attend presentations, which are scheduled during regular class periods. “Other interested parties such as students, faculty, administrators and members of the public are welcome to attend on a space available basis,” she said.
