TICKETS STILL ON SALE FOR SLU'S CHEFS EVENING '99
 HAMMOND -- Tickets are still on sale for Chefs Evening, the Southeastern Louisiana
University Development Foundation's annual food festival gala. 
 Three dozen of the Northshore's best restaurants, wineries and breweries are planning to serve
samples of their finest cuisine at the March 7 fete, scheduled for the Southeastern University
Center.
 The University Center will be transformed into a "tropical paradise" with a "tiki hut," colorful
fish decorations and coconut candle holders, said the Development Foundation's Mary Lou
Coats,
who is in charge of decorations. Musicians playing tropical music will add to the atmosphere,
added
Chefs Evening coordinator Theresa Landry.
 Tickets for Chefs Evening are $35 and are available through the Development Foundation,
(504) 549-2239 or 1-800-SLU-ALUM.
 Participating restaurants include Hammond's Aramark Classic Fare Catering, Edelweiss Caf‚
and Bakery, Carona's Bakery, Christopher's, Coy's Contemporary Cuisine, Cuco's, Don's Seafood
&
Steak House, Hon Yum, Jacmel Inn, Jambalaya & Company, Jordan's on Cate, Little Chicago
Pizzeria, Michabelle, Murphy's Seafood Restaurant, Pepper Tree, Piccadilly, TCBY, Tommy's
Pizza,
and Trey Yuen.
 From Ponchatoula, restaurants are C'est Bon, Piero Ristorante and Paul's Caf‚. Independence's
Steve's Custom Catering, Albany's Lagniappe Catering, and Covington/Mandeville's Benedict's,
Covington Coffee Works and Zazou Caf‚ also be on hand.
 Beverages will be provided by Amato's Winery in Independence, Hungarian Harvest Winery
in Albany, Covington Coffee Works, Abita Water, and Hammond's Crescent Bar, P.J.'s Coffee,
and
Jim Carey Distributers, and New Orleans' Great Southern Liquor Company and Robert Mondavi
Winery.
 Proceeds from Chefs Evening support Southeastern academic programs.
