SLU CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER EXPANDS HOURS
HAMMOND -- The 54-year-old Southeastern Louisiana University Child Development
Center, a preschool learning laboratory for three and four-year-olds, will expand its hours of
operation as of Fall 1997 to 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekdays. Because of the expanded service,
tuition will also increase, said Director Gretchen May. The registration fee is $100 and tutition
will be $70 per week (which includes lunch).
The center serves 16 children in each age group. (The child should be either three or four
by Sept. 30.) Applications are now available on a first come-first serve basis in the Counseling,
Family Studies and Educational Leadership Department (White Hall, 108) and Dr. May can be
reached at the center, 375-1152, between 8 a.m. and noon on weekdays. There are a number of
openings in the four-year-old class.
Families will be notified of their child has been accepted or is on a waiting list.
