SLU OFFERS 'CLAY FOR KIDS' WORKSHOPS
HAMMOND -- Children ages 5-12 can learn how to create art out of clay at a series of
summer workshops at Southeastern Louisiana University.
Three sessions of "Clay for Kids" are scheduled in June and July. Session I, taught by
recent Southeastern visual arts graduate Becky Borison, will be conducted from 2-4 p.m.
Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 16-25. Southeastern art instructor David Gibson will teach
Session II, 9:30-11:30 a.m., Mondays and Wednesdays, July 20-29, and Session III, 9:30-11:30
a.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays, July 21-29.
Students will explore basic clay hand building techniques and glazing while creating
fantasy animals, functional objects and designs from their own imaginations.
Clay for Kids costs $65 per session, plus a $5 lab fee. All classes will be taught at
Southeastern's Clark Hall.
